As probably most of you know that my Golf Academy will operate from the 15th of March at Diplomatic Club. I will revive some of the old Golf Cups J T Baker and J B Lammaison two of the pioneer teachers who put Romania on the world golf map in the 1920’s and 1930’s, both being the teachers of our own Paul Tomita. Even though we know that is only 6 holes golf course all my tournaments will be 12 holes golf tournaments to help you as well with the very hectic lifestyle of a Capital city. Please write me email at office@demigolf.ro and confirm if you want to take part in this 2016 calendar as places are limited and I cannot help you afterwards. I know that many of you will still take part on a more traditional Golf Tournaments of 18 holes however as you see I am very flexible with the tournaments dates. Diplomatic Club 2016 Golf Tournaments
Golf Players may join in the special programs offered at the Diplomatic Club each week during the 2016 season. Handicaps are required for all golf players in order to play in weekly events and tournaments.
Men's Bucharest Cup – April 1 – April 31
Format: a player records four net 12-hole rounds to be played at his convenience throughout the month. Must be playing with 4 players in group when playing the round. The players with the lowest total for the four rounds will be the Bucharest Cup champion.
140 RON entry fee. Max.Players 48
Winning player has name engraved on the Bucharest Cup.
Men's Four Ball – May 1 – May 31
Matches are scheduled throughout the month. Format: two men will play as partners vs. two competitors in a 12-hole match using 100% of each player's handicap with the winning team moving to the next round.

Time: matches are scheduled accordingly throughout the month.
Format: individual match play using each player's handicap. The player who is victorious will move on to the next round until all matcheshave been played. 120 RON entry fee

Women's Rogers Cup – August 1 – August 31
Time: matches are scheduled accordingly throughout the month. Format: individual match play using each player's handicap. The player who is victorious will move on to the next round until all matches have been played.

Parent/Child Tournament – August 1 - 31
Format: selected drive, alternate shot
Entry fee: 220 RON per team including BBQ at Ambassadors Restaurant
Prizes: trophy and golf shop credit
Battle of the Sexes – TBD
Format: individual medal play by handicap, men vs women
Entry fee: 220 RON per person including BBQ at Ambassadors Restaurant
Prizes: winning sex receives trophy and bragging rights for the year.
Junior Club Championship – TBD
Time: 4:30 PM tee time Ages 9-11 play 3 holes; ages 12 and up play 9 holes
Format: individual stroke play
80 RON entry fee Winners receive trophies.
Men’s BMW Cup-September 10-11
Time: 9:00 AM tee time, played at alternating courses.
Field: 12 players from Lighthouse Golf Club, 12 players from BSR, 12 players from Diplomatic Club and 12 players from any other club.
Format: 12 players represent each club in a competition vs other area clubs.
220 RON entry fee, includes BBQ at Ambassadors Restaurant.
First 12 players to sign up play. Winning team takes home BMW Cup.
Academy Member/Member – Academy Member/Guest - September 30
Time: 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM tee times.
Limited to 48 players.
Format: mixed golf – Chapman format: Two players play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each playing the partner's ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score, and play that ball alternately to complete the hole.
Entry fee: 220 RON per player, includes dinner.
Dinner at Ambassadors Restaurant.
Prizes: gross, net, and team point prizes awarded.
